Story behind “Crossing Over” Story Card:

My deeply held respect for the ocean stems from a vivid childhood memory. I was struggling, my strength was no match against the powerful rip current. I was about to cross over when suddenly a guardian angel – a lifeguard – saved me. The soft pastel colors of the sky contrast with the thorny vegetation of the sand dune. Occasionally our natural world is enhanced by human intervention… this cross has been a meeting place, a beacon of inspiration and remains a symbol of strength as we weather the storms of life.

I am now at peace with the ocean… I do not fear Crossing Over.
