Listen to the Audio Narration
My fascination with butterflies stem from childhood. To attract a few of these winged creatures, my small garden patch contains a few of their beloved perennials supplemented with a new batch of annuals each year. Even with their extended journeys, they always find time to stop by and pay a visit. With these mainstays — Butterfly Bush, Butterfly Weed, Bee Balm, Coneflower and Salvia — they’re like lightning rods. I can easily sit quietly and sketch or photograph their movements for hours. Yet, this year will be different. As my husband and I were contemplating offering these images as prints, the song selection to accompany the audio narrations had to be addressed. There’s one thing I’ve come to learn about music, there’s much variety from which to choose. Steeped in a wide pallet of musical heritage, my husband’s choice of the “perfect” music for my winged creatures was a stretch for my sensibilities — at least at first. With repeated listening sessions and an open mind, I’ve actually come to embrace the subtle nuances of his selections. If you close your eyes and listen to the tune, perhaps your mind’s eye will begin to “See” the butterflies flittering movements. My garden patch will definitely be viewed with different ears from this point onward. Open your mind, let the Butterfly Jazz wash over you . . . .©
